Fitted Kitchen Scale Drawing ... Step 3.
Got your "outline plan drawing" down on paper - to 1:20 scale?
Good, because this just gets easier
But before doing anything else, make sure you make several photocopies of your new scale plan to use later.
With the outline plan now drawn to scale you need to start entering your design on to the scale drawing, and its could not be easier ... why?
Well the standard depth of a kitchen worktop is 600mm - so draw a line 6 squares away from the wall where your worktop will be.
Now all of your kitchen cabinets are standard metric widths, and therefore a standard number of "squares" wide, as below:
150mm = 1.5 squares, 300mm = 3 squares ... do I need to go on?
Most built in kitchen appliances are 600mm wide ... so guess how many squares that is! (if you did not guess it was 6 squares you must be pretty thick)
Using one of your blank copies start playing around with the design, and see how easy it is to draw properly to scale. (by just adding up the required squares)
If you carry out the steps above you will produce a plan that is far more likely to fit than without drawing it to scale ... we will assume you will have your plan checked for accuracy prior to making your final purchasing decision.
