Kitchen Sinks
You will find kitchen sinks available in a multitude of bowl and drainer combinations, and manufactured from a number of materials, but are generally broken down into the following categories:
Sit On Sink - Where the kitchen sink / drainer is a complete item that sits on top of the sink base cabinet and the worktop buts up to each side (becoming less and less popular).
Inset Sink - Where the kitchen sink sits into the top of the worktop, with the bowl dropping into a base unit and the drainer contained within the depth of the worktop (the most popular type of sink).
Undermount Sink - Where the bowl is set under the worktop, which overhangs each side of the kitchen sink (most commonly used with Granite and other specialist worktops).
Belfast, or Butler Sink - Where the kitchen sink sits on a low base cabinet with the worktop wrapping around 3 sides and overhanging the bowl (most commonly used with Solid Wood, Granite, or other specialist worktops).
Corner Sink - As the name suggest there are a number of specialist kitchen sinks developed to sit across or wrap around a corner situation.
