Kitchen Taps

These days Kitchen Taps come in all shapes, sizes, colours, pressure ratings, and prices, most of which can be broken down into the following categories:

Pillar Taps - Two single Kitchen Taps, one for hot and one for cold, rarely seen these days.

Deck Mixer Taps - Single Kitchen Tap body requiring two feed hole cutouts in the sink, with separate hot and cold controls - tend to be fitted on to cheap "sit on" sink units

Monoblock Mixer Taps - Single Kitchen Tap body requiring a single hole cutout in the sink, with separate hot and cold controls - by far the most popular type of kitchen tap

Single Lever Taps - Single Kitchen Tap body requiring a single hole cutout in the sink, with a single hot and cold control

Pullout Spray Taps - Single Kitchen Tap body requiring a single hole cutout in the sink, with a single (sometimes separate) hot and cold control and including a spray facility that pulls out of the spout on a flexi hose

Water Filter Taps - Same as mixer taps, but with a third control supplying filtered drinking water (water filtered through a cartridge situated in the sink cabinet below)

Instant Hot Water Taps - Provide instant boiling water (some also provide instant chilled filtered water) and are becoming increasingly popular as the price comes down

These people have a wide variety of Kitchen Taps:

  •  kitchen tap tip ... When buying instant hot water taps it's worth checking they supply "boiling", or very near to boiling, water. Some of the cheaper instant hot water taps supply water only at 88 degree's - no good for making tea with.
