A new introduction into the UK market over the past couple of years, Concrete Worktops offer a new seamless worktop system.
Available in a variety of finishes (polished with visible aggregate, or polished and coloured) the choice of colours is not great as we speak, but this will improve over the coming years.
Concrete Worktops are not dissimilar in appearance to Corian, i.e. they radiate a soft sheen as opposed to the high glossy finish of Granite and Quartz.
Concrete worktops are either supplied in "blanks" to be fabricated on site, or a poured on site, hand trowelled, and waxed to a finish.
Concrete Worktops are waterproof, alcohol resistant, non-yellowing and anti-microbial as well as having good heat resistance and excellent wear properties.
As with most "specialist solid" worktops it is advisable to purchase Concrete Worktops from a specialist manufacturer - that will template prior to manufacture and installation.
